Perplexed Music

Synopsis

Perplexed Music, directed by Mark McGann, is a short film about the story of a Man (Paul McGann) who battles for mental stability in a terrifying new world. The film explores the temporary madness and isolation experienced by a middle-aged man as he battles for reason with worlds past and present in need of closure and the strength to continue on his life’s journey without his long-term companion (Emma Campbell-Jones). His search for understanding and a reason to continue, takes him to the very edge of his own mortality, before the natural process of grief finally reveals the answers he seeks in the universal truths present in everything touched by the cycle of life. Perplexed Music is inspired by the Elizabeth Barrett Browning Sonnet of the same name 

About The Production

Perplexed Music was shot on location in Somerset and Cornwall, and includes an original soundtrack by Mark McGann performed with a haunting beauty by Stephanie Grace Kennedy. The film received several nominations and wins on the independent film festival circuit. It was awarded Best Production - Firenze Film CortiDiamond Award - LA Shorts AwardsBest Short - Newcastle International Film Festival, and Best Cast - Red Corner Film Festival.
